“Echoes of Earth and Life” conveys a sense of harmony and interconnectedness between the natural world and living creatures. The word “echoes” implies a reverberation or continuation, highlighting the ongoing dialogue between the earth’s elements and the life it sustains. This title evokes a deep appreciation for the beauty and complexity of both nature and life.

Artist Statement:
In “Echoes of Earth and Life,” I delve into the profound connection between the natural world, architectural structures, and the creatures that inhabit these spaces. This collection serves as a testament to the intricate dance between the organic and the constructed, highlighting the beauty and harmony that arise from their coexistence.

Through images that capture the resilience of nature and the serenity of landscapes, I aim to reflect the unyielding spirit of the earth. In contrast, architectural elements depict humanity’s influence, showcasing our ability to shape and be shaped by the environment.

The interplay between life forms reveals the delicate balance and mutual dependence that sustain our world. This collection invites viewers to reflect on the echoes of life and land that resonate within and around us, urging a deeper appreciation for the world we share.

By weaving together these diverse elements, I hope to evoke a sense of wonder and contemplation, encouraging a renewed commitment to preserving the beauty that surrounds us.

Mikel’s exhibit will be on display through August 28 with a closing reception to be held on Sunday, August 30, from 2-4 PM. Stop by Monday-Friday between 1:00 and 5:00 PM to see her stunning photographs!

Successful start to Kids Summer Art? ✅
Between our two classes we had 56 children create with us! ✏️

Free art classes for kids up to 12 years old will be held every Friday through July 10th from 9:00 - 10:00 AM or 10:30 - 11:30 AM. Let’s have a creative summer ☀️

Free art classes for kids up to 12 years old will be held every Friday through July 10th from 9:00 - 10:00 AM or 10:30 - 11:30 AM. Let’s have a creative summer ☀️

The 5.4.7 Arts Center building opened in May 2008, and after 18 years, major preservation work on the wood siding began last year. Thanks to generous community support, the east, south, and west sides of the building have been fully restored and now look like new.

To complete the project, the north side of the building still needs repair and preservation due to weathering, deterioration, and missing boards. The work completed so far has totaled $59,000, and an additional $30,000 is needed to finish the project.

To be good stewards and caretakers of our facility, we would like to be able to repair and preserve the north side of the building in the next few months and wrap up this preservation project. To this end, we are launching a Capital Capital Campaign called:
✨30 In 30...$30,000 in 30 days beginning June 1-30✨

Your support will help us continue being good stewards of this important community space and continue our mission of bringing the arts to the community through classes and exhibits.

All donors will receive a thank-you letter and tax-exempt receipt.
