Tricia Spencer Draws a Crowd
Guest artist teaches a painting class for kids. Organizers say there was a great turnout!

On Saturday, September 26, 2009, artist Tricia Spencer taught a painting class for elementary / and junior high kids. She taught them to use acrylic paints and showed them how to paint a landscape picture. Students were taught how to hold a paint brush, how to mix colors, the proper way to brush stroke, and how to paint things both close and far away in a landscape picture.
There were 14 students that attended the workshop, held at the 5.4.7 Arts Center. Each student painted a landscape picture and then was given an opportunity to be creative. Their second picture could be anything they wanted it to be.
In the afternoon on the 26th, there was also a painting class for adults. The 5.4.7 Center will continue to offer opportunities for both students and adults from time to time. Bookmark this website to stay informed.
